The Pink Link, a leading logistics company based in Huddersfield, has been awarded the prestigious Silver Award under the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).
This recognition underpins the company’s wholehearted commitment to supporting those who have served, and continue to serve, our country – including veterans, reservists and their families.
The ERS scheme celebrates organisations that ‘pledge, demonstrate, or advocate support for ‘defence and the Armed Forces community’. Achieving the Silver Award required The Pink Link to meet a stringent set of criteria, including:
- Signing the Armed Forces Covenant; a formal pledge to honour the dedication and sacrifices made by Armed Forces personnel and their families.
- Holding the ERS Bronze Award with sufficient time to ‘develop suitable plans and policies and evidence to support the ERS Silver application’.
- Ensuring service personnel and the Armed Forces community are treated fairly during recruitment and employment.
- Ensuring employment contracts for Reservists include paid leave for the training obligations.
The Pink Link, a member of the Palletways network, proudly signed the Armed Forces Covenant over a year ago as part of its continued commitment to the Armed Forces community and to ensure both serving personnel and veterans, along with their families, are ‘given the respect and opportunities they deserve’.
The company has and continues to employ members of the Armed Forces community across various roles, including operations, administration and driving positions. Additionally, The Pink Link actively engages with the community and attends career fairs to help ex-service members transition to civilian careers.
Paul Ince, Managing Director of The Pink Link, said: “We are proud to have earned the Silver Award, which reflects our profound gratitude for the sacrifices made by those in the Armed Forces.
“At The Pink Link, we strive to create a working environment where ex-service people and reservists feel valued and respected. Their unique skills and experiences align perfectly with the demands of the logistics sector, and we are committed to providing them with meaningful opportunities.”
Warwick Trimble, Network Director for Palletways UK, said: “We fully support and encourage our member network to actively support ex-forces personnel. Palletways was honoured to receive a Gold Award under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme last year and are delighted to see The Pink Link acknowledged for its commitment to the Armed Forces community.”
