PALLETWAYS BIRMINGHAM BATHES IN SUCCESS WITH NEW CONTRACT WIN

Midlands-based Palletways Birmingham, part of Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network Palletways, has secured a contract with leading bathroom product manufacturer, HiB Ltd.

Palletways Birmingham has been appointed as HiB’s main ‘pallet’ haulier following a successful trial period in 2015. The logistics firm will handle 7,500 pallets per year and will deliver HiB’s products across the whole of the UK.

Tamworth-based HiB Ltd specialises in the design and manufacture of bathroom products from mirrors, cabinets and furniture through to ventilation and lighting. The company, which was founded in 1990, started out as a small bathroom business in North London and is now recognised as a world leading bathroom product manufacturer. Its products are available throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

Emma Aherne, field sales manager at Palletways Birmingham, said: “We’ve been working with HiB for over twelve months now and this contract truly consolidates the great relationship we have with the company. This contract win is great news for us and is a testament to the leading service we provide and fits well with our vision to be the natural choice and leading carrier in the Midlands.”

Richard Berry, operations manager at HiB, added: “Throughout our trial period, we’ve been very impressed with how Palletways Birmingham has worked with us – as one team – to support us in meeting the increase in demand for our products. From the outset Emma Aherne has been extremely supportive with a can-do approach.

“As part of the Palletways network, Palletways Birmingham can also offer a lot of opportunities for growth thanks to its innovative IT systems and wide geographical coverage in the UK and Europe.”

Palletways Birmingham, based at Fradley, has a 30-strong fleet, handles a total of 300,000 pallets a year and employs 60 staff in the Midlands.

Palletways consists of 400 depots across Europe, of which more than 100 are in the UK. The company’s distribution networks are made up of independent transport companies, including Palletways Birmingham, who share each other’s resources to deliver consignments of palletised freight to market with the highest levels of service.
